The IB Diploma Programme  Psychology course aims to develop an awareness of how research findings can be applied to better understand human behaviour and how ethical practices are upheld in psychological inquiry. Students learn to understand the biological, cognitive and sociocultural influences on human behaviour and explore alternative explanations of behaviour. They also understand and use diverse methods of psychological inquiry.

The IB DP Psychology standard level (SL) course contains three core topics (Duration 90 Hours), an optional topic (Duration 30 Hours) and an experimental study (Duration 30 Hours).

The assessment model of Psychology SL consists of two papers. Paper 1 is a two hours exam which asks questions response and an essay, it weighs 50% of the final grade. Paper 2 is a one-hour exam in which one question has to be answered in essay form out of fifteen questions, it weighs 25% of the final grade. The internal assessment is a report of a simple experimental study conducted by the student, it weighs 25% of the final grade.

The IB DP Psychology higher level (HL) course contains three core topics (Duration 90 Hours), an optional topic (Duration 60 Hours), few additional higher level (AHL) topics based on qualitative research in Psychology (Duration 50 Hours) and an experimental study (Duration 40 Hours).

The assessment model of Psychology HL consists of three papers. Paper 1 is a two hours exam which asks questions response and an essay, it weighs 35% of the final grade. Paper 2 is a two-hour exam in which two questions have to be answered in essay form out of fifteen questions, it weighs 25% of the final grade.  Paper 3 is a one-hour exam which asks three questions, weighing 20% of the final grade. The internal assessment is a report of a simple experimental study conducted by the student, it weighs 20% of the final grade.
